For Google, the meta keywords tag is not a ranking signal and has not been for years. What still matters is a page with a clear topic, visible terms used naturally in headings and body copy, a title and description that match the intent, and internal links with sensible anchor text. We publish page keywords anyway - in the tag, in the visible topic block and in the sitemap data - because other engines, site search and AI crawlers do read them, and because it keeps every page honest about what it is for.
