Dior on Yupoo: the oblique canvas and the B27 sneaker file

Dior sits between couture and streetwear in this catalogue: oblique canvas bags on one side, B27 and B30 sneakers on the other. The two need different checks.

The argument for this page

Why Dior behaves differently to every other house

Dior is two products wearing one name. Oblique canvas bags are a print-registration problem; the B27 and B30 sneakers are a sole-stack problem. A page that gives you one checklist for both is not much use, so treat them separately and ask separate questions.

For the canvas, registration is everything. The motif has to meet at the seams and run level across the flap. The Saddle bag adds a second demand: the curved panel has to keep its line, and a mis-cut curve is visible from two metres away once you have seen a good one.

For the sneakers, the sole is the product. Stack height, edge finish and the way the midsole meets the outsole are the three visible numbers. The upper is comparatively simple, which is precisely why a bad sole makes the whole shoe read wrong.

Questions

Dior: the three questions buyers ask

Does the Book Tote have the same checks as a Saddle?

Fewer, and one more. Registration still matters and there is no flap to judge, but the base panel takes the load, so ask about stiffness and how it stands when full.

How do I size a B27?

By foot length against the listing chart, and be alert to the chunky sole making the toe box feel larger than expected. If you are between sizes, the lower end is usually right.

What is the most common Dior mistake?

Assuming the sneaker and the bag are similar purchases. They share almost nothing except the logo, and the checks are completely different.

Is Dior stock kept on the storefront?

Listings come and go with production runs. Treat any specific item as live only while the listing page says so, and always ask about the size run in writing.
