Why Prada behaves differently to every other house
Prada is a materials house, and in this catalogue the materials are the argument. Re-nylon has a specific sheen - not glossy, not matte, with a fine weave you can see if the frame is close enough. Saffiano has a cross-hatch pressed deep enough to keep its line at a edge. Both are cheap to fake in a photo and expensive to fake in the hand.
Structure is the second test. The Galleria and the Re-Edition tote are both designed to stand. If a listing only shows the bag being held, you are not being shown the thing that makes the silhouette work. Ask for it on a table, empty.
The enamel triangle is small, and that is the point. Logo plates are where tooling budget goes first, and a soft, shallow or off-centre plaque is the cheapest flaw to spot in a macro frame.
Written for Prada specifically. The same discipline applied to a different house produces a different list - see the brand index.
